The PADI System of diver education is based on state of the art instructional system design theory, and progressive training that introduces skills, safety related information and local environmental knowledge to students in stages. PADI courses are student-centered and provide for maximum practice and application. Students learn the basics through independent study and then are guided through additional development by their instructors. The goal is to get students in the water as soon as possible and provide them with the instruction necessary to gain confidence in their diving abilities. We teach the academics of diving by using SSI’s Total Teaching System, which includes manuals, study guides, videos, teaching outlines and other support material. The system also utilizes repetition of information by addressing all of the ways people learn by seeing, reading, hearing, repeating, and doing. Our system is the natural way to learn, and has proved to be a highly effective teaching methodology. The SSI Total Teaching System results in a high level of confidence in overall diving ability, which allows you to focus on why you wanted to learn to dive – to have a great time diving!
